Unlocking Youth Potential in Zambia -- Micro-finance
"Do not give us fish, instead teach us how to fish and give us finishing rods we have enough fish ponds in Africa," -Joel Walehwa.
Under this department, we give loans to eligible young people in Zambia whose desire is to carry a self employed business with a goal of attaining financial independence. Our goal is to help these young people become self reliant so that in turn the help others. The person applying for such a loan should demonstrate the desire, and plan for their business he/she want to undertake or grow his/her business.
It is mandatory for all qualified/ chosen applicants to go through a two weeks training before a loan is given. Topics covered in these sessions include accountability, savings, financial security, profit and loss, and many more..
The loan must be repaid within a certain period of time depending on the amount, need and the nature of business being undertaken. Once a loan is paid back, we loan them to others applicants. We plan extending these micro-finance projects to other African countries.
We also just finished a project proposal to build the Hope Empowerment Center which will consist of orphanage/foster homes, elementary school, Computer Tech. School, Internet Cafe´ and recreation facilities. Contact us for more information if you want to make this dream a reality
